How to maintain your white smile while sipping on your favorite warm beverages this winter…

Tea, Coffee and hot chocolate all stain teeth. Below are some simple suggestions on how to keep your teeth white while still enjoying hot beverages this winter.

Now I know this is not the easiest thing to do with a hot beverage but believe it or not sipping through a straw minimizes the liquid with which your teeth come in contact with.

Drinking water between these beverages helps to wash away the dark liquids from the teeth. Not only is water good for your overall health, it is also beneficial to keeping a whiter smile.

Brush and Floss Afterwards

The longer you allow the liquid to remain on your teeth, the more severe the staining will be. If you don’t floss, you could end up with staining around the surfaces of your teeth even if you brush regularly.

Use Whitening Products

There are a lot of whitening products on the market these days, including toothpastes, mouthwashes and over the counter bleaching products. Making the switch to these specialized formulas if you heavily drink these dark liquids can help prevent and treat stains. Also chewing sugar free gum which will produce saliva, can help keep your mouth fresh and clean.
